SATURDAY NIGHT ABOVE 3500 FEET...
...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 8 AM SATURDAY TO MIDNIGHT EDT
SATURDAY NIGHT BELOW 3500 FEET...

* WHAT...For the High Wind Warning, west winds 25 to 35 mph with
  gusts up to 65 mph expected. For the Wind Advisory, west winds
  20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected.

* WHERE...Madison, Swain, Haywood, Buncombe, Graham, Northern
  Jackson, Macon, Southern Jackson and Transylvania Counties.

* WHEN...From 8 AM Saturday to midnight EDT Saturday night.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.
  Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be
  difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...the potential for strong and damaging wind
  gusts will be greatest across the ridgetops and mountain peaks
  above 3500 feet in elevation. Wind gusts in valley locations may
  top out around 55 mph.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around
trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of
your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if
you must drive.
