This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the western Carolinas and
northeast Georgia.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

   Wind Advisory.

A powerful storm system will impact the region this morning bringing
heavy rain and strong to severe storms. The main hazard with any
severe storm that develops will be damaging wind gusts. However, an
isolated tornado or two cannot be ruled out. Additionally, locally
heavy rainfall may result in isolated nuisance flooding, mainly
across the southwest North Carolina mountains and the South Carolina
and Georgia mountains.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.

No hazardous weather is expected at this time.

Spotters are requested to forward any reports of large hail,
damaging winds, tornadoes, or flash flooding to our office.

...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...In the North Carolina mountains, south winds 20 to 30 mph
  with gusts of 40 to 50 mph expected in the valleys. Winds will
  gust as high as 60 mph on the high peaks and ridgetops. For the
  mountains of the Upstate and northeast Georgia, south winds 15 to
  25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.

* WHERE...Portions of northeast Georgia, western North Carolina, and
  Upstate South Carolina.

* WHEN...Until 2 PM EDT this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree
  limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
