446 AM EDT Mon Oct 25 2021

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the foothills and western
Piedmont of North Carolina, and the northern part of upstate South
Carolina, including the Charlotte metro area.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

A loosely-organized band of thunderstorms is expected to move east of
the mountains during the afternoon and early evening ahead of a
strong cold front. Some of the thunderstorms could become strong
enough to produce severe weather, mainly in the form of damaging
wind gusts. If enough instability develops, an isolated brief tornado
cannot be ruled out. Any of the storms will contain cloud-to-ground
lightning, small hail, and brief heavy downpours. The storms should
move east of the region by mid-evening.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

Hazardous weather is not expected at this time.

Spotter activation may be needed. Please relay any information about
observed severe weather to the NWS while following all local, state,
and CDC guidelines.
