This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for western North Carolina.

   Wind Advisory.

A powerful storm system will impact the region this evening into
tonight bringing heavy rain and severe storms. The main hazards with
any severe storms that develop are damaging wind gusts and
tornadoes. A strong tornado or two cannot be ruled out.
Additionally, locally heavy rainfall may result in isolated flash
flooding, especially across the southwest North Carolina mountains
and the South Carolina and Georgia mountains.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.

   Wind Advisory.

Strong to severe storms may redevelop Sunday afternoon but confidence
is low. Additionally, gusty non-thunderstorm winds will continue
into Sunday.

* WHAT...South winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts of 40 to 50 mph
  expected in the valleys. Winds will gust as high as 70 mph on the
  high peaks and ridgetops.

* WHERE...Buncombe, Graham, Haywood, Macon, Madison, Northern
  Jackson, Southern Jackson, and Swain Counties.

* WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to 8 AM EDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree
  limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
