Dry air will be in place across the region today as high pressure settles over the Deep South. The relative humidity is expected to drop down into the 10-20 percent range this afternoon across all of the area except the higher elevations along the Tennessee border. Although winds will be much lighter than Thursday, the low relative humidity and dry fuels will cause increased fire danger. Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities on whether you can burn today. In fact, burning is strongly discouraged across the Upstate. If you do burn, use extreme caution since fires can quickly get out of hand under these conditions. $$
