* WHAT...Visibility one quarter to one half mile in dense fog.

* WHERE...Portions of Upstate South Carolina and the piedmont of
  North Carolina.

* WHEN...Until 9 AM EST this morning.

* IMPACTS...Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Visibility will vary greatly across the
  area. Drivers should be on the alert for sudden and sharp drop
  in visibility this morning. Fog should burn off with greatly
  improving visibility after 8 AM.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of
distance ahead of you.

...LOCALLY DENSE FOG WILL PERSIST THIS MORNING...

Patchy dense fog will persist across the Upstate, the NC foothills
and piedmont, and portions of Northeast Georgia through daybreak.
Visibility will vary greatly across the area, with values a
quarter mile or less in some locations. Motorists are urged to
slow down, use low beam headlights, and leave plenty of distance
between other vehicles. Also, be alert for children near school
bus stops. Fog should burn off with greatly improving visibility
after 8 AM.
