This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for central North Carolina.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

   Heat Advisory.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

Heat index values between 105 to 108 are expected again Wednesday.
Heat of this magnitude and duration will pose a moderate risk for
those sensitive to heat such as older adults, infants, athletes,
outdoor workers, and those without effective cooling.

Additionally, isolated strong to severe storms are possible
Wednesday afternoon and early evening, mainly along and north of
Highway 64. Strong to severe wind gusts will be the primary hazard.

Finally, a wet and unsettled pattern is expected from Thursday and
into the weekend. Periods of heavy rain will be possible which could
also result in flooding.

* WHERE...A portion of the northeast Piedmont and the Sandhills.

* WHEN...From 11 AM this morning to 8 PM EDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
  illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion or
heat stroke.
