This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for central North Carolina.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

There is a Level 2-Slight Risk for severe storms this afternoon and
evening. Damaging winds and large hail are the primary threats.
Localized flash flooding is also possible, mainly in urban and poor
drainage areas.

Heat indices will reach 100 to 103 degrees today, mainly along and
east of the Triangle, resulting in dangerous conditions for sensitive
to the heat.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Extremely dangerous levels of heat is likely much of next week.
The hottest temperatures of the season so far are expected. Persistent
heat with numerous record highs and warm lows, light winds, sunny
days, and lack of overnight cooling will significantly increase the
danger.

As the heat builds, limit outdoor activity, stay hydrated, and
ensure access to air-conditioning and other cooling areas.
