...HIGH SURF ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM TO 10 PM EST SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Large breaking waves of 8 to 12 feet expected in the
  surf zone.

* WHERE...The beaches from Cape Hatteras to Surf City.

* WHEN...From 7 AM to 10 PM EST Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and
  localized beach erosion.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong south to southwest winds ahead of an
  approaching cold front will lead to an increased risk of large,
  breaking waves, Sunday morning through Sunday evening,
  especially for south facing beaches south of Cape Hatteras.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to
dangerous surf conditions.

...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 9 AM TO 7 PM EST SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 to 50 mph
  expected.

* WHERE...A portion of eastern North Carolina.

* WHEN...From 9 AM to 7 PM EST Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree
  limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong southwesterly winds will develop
  Sunday morning, and last into late Sunday afternoon. In addition
  to the strong background winds, showers and thunderstorms
  accompanying a cold front may produce areas of enhanced wind gusts.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
