...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 2 AM TO 11 PM

...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 4 AM WEDNESDAY TO
7 AM EDT THURSDAY...

* WHAT...For the Coastal Flood Advisory, 1 to 2 feet of
  inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near
  shorelines and tidal waterways. For the High Surf Advisory,
  large breaking waves of 8 to 12 feet expected in the surf zone.

* WHERE...Hatteras Island and Northern Outer Banks. The greatest
  threat for sound side flooding will be from Buxton to Hatteras
  Village. The greatest threat for ocean side impacts will be
  areas north of Cape Hatteras.

* WHEN...For the Coastal Flood Advisory, from 2 AM to 11 PM EDT
  Wednesday. For the High Surf Advisory, from 4 AM Wednesday to
  7 AM EDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Up to 1 to 2 feet of inundation above ground level is
  possible in low-lying areas adjacent to the Pamlico Sound
  resulting in a low threat of property damage. Some roads and low
  lying property including parking lots, parks, lawns, and homes
  adjacent to the waterfront will experience shallow flooding.
  Along the beaches, Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and
  localized beach erosion with ocean overwash are  expected.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be
closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of
unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone
property.

Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to
dangerous surf conditions.

...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 PM THIS EVENING TO 10 AM
EDT WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Northeast winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph
  expected.

* WHERE...Northern Outer Banks.

* WHEN...From 11 PM this evening to 10 AM EDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.
  Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be
  difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around
trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of
your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if
you must drive.
