This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of western and north
central Nebraska.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Dangerously cold wind chills are expected overnight across western
and north central Nebraska. Widespread wind chills of 20 to 25 below
zero are expected, with wind chills of 30 below or colder across
north central Nebraska.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Dangerously cold wind chills are expected to last through late Friday
morning across the region. Wind chills are expected to remain around
20 below or colder.

Accumulating snowfall is expected Friday through early Saturday
afternoon across most of western and north central Nebraska. Total
snowfall accumulations of 1 to 2 inches are possible.

Very cold wind chills are expected Saturday, Sunday, and Monday
mornings across the region. Wind chills of 10 to 25 below zero are
possible Saturday, Sunday, and Monday mornings.

* WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 25 below expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central, north central, panhandle, southwest,
  and west central Nebraska.

* WHEN...From midnight CST /11 PM MST/ tonight to noon CST /11 AM
  MST/ Friday.

* IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 25 below zero
  could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.
  Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is
  exposed to these temperatures. Wind chill values can lead to
  hypothermia with prolonged exposure. Very cold temperatures can
  lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Make sure outdoor animals have a warm, dry shelter, food, and
unfrozen water.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.
