A storm system over the Central Rockies will migrate east onto the central plains tonight. Snow will spread east of the panhandle into the Sandhills, southwestern and portions of central and north central Nebraska. Snow will be moderate to heavy at times tonight and accumulations of 3 to 8 inches of snow are expected generally west of a line from Valentine to Sargent and Ansley with the heaviest amounts over the eastern panhandle, far southwestern Nebraska and western Sandhills. Some locally higher amounts are possible in these areas. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY. As the storm system moves across the region on Friday, snow will be moderate to heavy at times Friday morning across central and southwestern Nebraska. Snow will continue into the afternoon hours, however, as temperatures rise into the mid 30s, additional accumulations will be limited to grassy surfaces. A strong cold front will pass through the area Sunday night. Behind the front, rain and snow will be possible overnight Sunday night into Monday morning. Temperatures will be cool enough tonight into tomorrow morning for snow to accumulate. This snow is expected to accumulate quickly overnight and lead to hazardous travel conditions. Snow will continue into the morning hours on Friday, with a mix or changeover back to rain Friday afternoon.
