This afternoon, heat index values as hot as 100 to 102 degrees are forecast mainly south of a line from Cambridge Nebraska to Beloit Kansas. This evening through the overnight hours, a line of strong to severe thunderstorms is expected to move through much of the forecast area from northwest to southeast, with the potential to produce damaging wind gusts near 70 MPH, hail up to the size of golf balls, and very heavy rainfall rates. An isolated tornado is not out of the question. The primary time frame of concern is 8 PM to 2 AM. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday. A few isolated storms may continue on into the daytime hours on Wednesday, but better thunderstorm chances return for the evening and overnight hours, especially for areas south of Interstate 80 and into north central Kansas. Some of these storms may be strong to marginally severe, and also produce heavy rain. Thursday is expected to remain dry for much of the area, with off and on chances for thunderstorms returning Friday through Monday. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
