This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southwest
Iowa...west central Iowa...east central Nebraska...northeast
Nebraska and southeast Nebraska.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Freezing conditions are possible in far northern portions of the
area on this morning. Sensitive vegetation and unprotected water
pipes may be damaged. Patchy frost is possible for much of the
remainder of northeast Nebraska early this morning.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday

Most of northeast Nebraska and west central Iowa are expected to
experience temperatures below freezing on Saturday morning, which
will injure any sensitive vegetation and may be cold enough to
damage unprotected water pipes.

...FREEZE WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM TO 9 AM CDT SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 29 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southwest Iowa and east central, northeast
  and southeast Nebraska.

* WHEN...From 1 AM to 9 AM CDT Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other
  sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor
  plumbing.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent
freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should
be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have
in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-
ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
