This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southwest
Iowa...west central Iowa...east central Nebraska...northeast
Nebraska and southeast Nebraska.

.DAY ONE...Tonight and Tuesday

Roads will be slick in portions of northeast Nebraska into west-
central Iowa through this evening where 1 to locally 3 plus
inches of snow will fall.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday night through Monday

Widespread snow will likely bring travel impacts Tuesday night
through Wednesday (80% chance near the South Dakota line to 100%
near the KS and MO state lines). Several inches of snow are
likely, with the heaviest amounts in far southern Nebraska. There
is a 70 to 90% chance for areas along and south of Interstate 80
to get at least 4 inches of snow.

Very cold temperatures are expected Tuesday through Thursday. Wind
chills of -15 to -25 are likely in northeast Nebraska, and only
slightly warmer in areas farther south.

There is a 40-60% chance for measurable snow Friday night into
Saturday, but confidence is low in amounts.

...WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY EVENING THROUGH
WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations between 5 and
  7 inches. Some blowing snow and reduced visibility is also
  possible with winds gusting 20 to 25 mph to blow the very fluffy
  snow.

* WHERE...Portions of southwest Iowa and southeast Nebraska.

* WHEN...From Tuesday evening through Wednesday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
  likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be very difficult.
  The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday morning and
  evening commutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Winds will remain relatively light throughout
  the event, out of the northeast at 5 to 15 MPH with gust up to 20
  mph.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Monitor the latest forecasts for updates on this situation.

Persons should consider delaying all travel. If travel is absolutely
necessary, drive with extreme caution. Consider taking a winter
storm kit along with you, including such items as tire chains,
booster cables, flashlight, shovel, blankets and extra clothing.
Also take water, a first aid kit, and anything else that would help
you survive in case you become stranded.
