This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for south central Nebraska and
portions of north central Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Another round of gusty northwest winds and will lead to elevated
to near critical fire weather conditions across the entire outlook
area today. However, it appears relative humidity values will
remain higher than recent days and above the critical threshold of
20 percent, generally remaining around 23 to 28 percent. The
driest air will favor areas along and south of the Kansas,
Nebraska state line.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

- Near-critical fire weather conditions Tuesday through Friday:
Each afternoon and early evening through Friday, at least near-
critical fire weather conditions are expected across portions of
our forecast area, due to the combination of relative humidity
falling to at around 25 percent, and winds gusting at least 20
MPH. Outright critical conditions appear unlikely at this time.

- Late-week thunderstorm chances:
Thunderstorm chances return to the forecast late this week into
this weekend as our next strong low pressure system passes through
the region. Thunderstorm activity currently appears overall-most
favored during the Friday night through Saturday evening time
frame. However, it is too early to confidently assess the
potential for any strong to severe storms.
