NORTHEASTERN KEARNEY...SOUTHEASTERN BUFFALO AND SOUTHWESTERN HALL
COUNTIES THROUGH 215 AM CDT...

At 137 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Gibbon, or 16 miles east of Kearney, moving east at 40 mph.

HAZARD...Half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.

Locations impacted include...
Gibbon, Wood River, Shelton, Alda, and Prosser.

This includes Interstate 80 between mile markers 285 and 308.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for south central Nebraska and
portions of north central Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

A line of strong to severe thunderstorms is expected to move
northwest to southeast across most of the area tonight. The
primary threat is for wind gusts of 60 to 70 MPH, although
isolated instances of large hail are also possible. The threat
for severe weather will end by 2am.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

Thunderstorm chances return Wednesday for the evening and
overnight hours, especially for areas south of Interstate 80 and
into north central Kansas. Some of these storms may be strong to
marginally severe, and also produce heavy rain.

Thursday is expected to remain dry for much of the area, with off
and on chances for thunderstorms returning Friday through next
Tuesday.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotters are encouraged to report strong wind gusts, hail of any
size, or any flooding that might occur this evening and tonight.
