This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for southwest Iowa, west central
Iowa, east central Nebraska, northeast Nebraska and southeast
Nebraska.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Gusty winds and dry conditions will lead to Very High to Extreme fire
danger conditions across far southeast Nebraska this afternoon.

Strong to severe storms will be possible this evening through the
overnight hours, mainly east of a line from Fairbury,NE, to Fremont,
NE, to Woodbine, IA. Large hail and damaging winds will be the
primary threats.


.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

Shower and storm chances continue Wednesday and Friday. Severe
storms will be possible at times, especially across southeast
Nebraska and southwest Iowa Friday afternoon and evening.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation may be needed at times this week, particularly
Tuesday and Friday.

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 9 PM CDT THIS
EVENING FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR SALINE AND
JEFFERSON COUNTIES...

The National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley has issued a Red
Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in
effect from noon today to 9 PM CDT this evening.

* AFFECTED AREA...Saline and Jefferson Counties.

* TIMING...From noon today to 9 PM CDT this evening.

* WINDS...Southwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 19 percent.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
  Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
