A Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect for the entire Tri-State area this morning. Wind chill readings as low as 25 degrees below zero are expected through 8 AM MST, 9 AM CST. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY... An Arctic airmass will surge southward into the Central Plains on Saturday. Wind chill readings ranging from 5 to 15 degrees below zero are expected Saturday evening through Sunday morning. Another Arctic airmass is forecast to surge southward into the Central Plains early next week. Frostbite may occur on exposed skin in less than 30 minutes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...As of 1 AM MST, numerous observation sites across the region have reported air temperatures as low as 5 to 10 below zero and dangerously cold wind chill readings as low as 25 below zero. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If you absolutely must venture outdoors, make sure to wear appropriate clothing. Dress in multiple layers, including a hat and gloves. Having abundant and accessible feed will help animals maintain body temperature and survive cold temperatures.
