Winter Storm Watch

URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE
National Weather Service Gray ME
357 PM EST Thu Dec 3 2020

...SIGNIFICANT SNOW ACCUMULATION POSSIBLE THIS WEEKEND...

.A major storm system will track northeastward out of the
Tennessee Valley on Friday before moving into the Gulf of Maine
Saturday afternoon and evening. Significant snow accumulation is
possible in the watch area. There is the potential for locally
heavy snowfall rates for a few hours overnight on Saturday which
could make travel very difficult. This will be a heavy wet snow
which could result in tree damage and power outages. In addition,
gusty northwesterly winds will be possible on Saturday afternoon
and evening, especially along the coast. There is still
uncertainty in the track of the storm. If it moves farther east,
then snow amounts will be less, especially inland. This is still a
changeable situation.
