The following message is transmitted at the request of the Forest
Service Mount Washington Avalanche Center, Gorham NH.

The US Forest Service Mount Washington Avalanche Center has issued
a backcountry avalanche warning. This avalanche warning does not
apply to operating ski areas.

* TIMING...In effect from Saturday 7:00AM EST to Sunday 7:00AM

* AFFECTED AREA...Ravines on the east side of Mount Washington
  including Tuckerman, Huntington Ravines and Gulf of Slides.
  Other steep, open slopes will have an elevated avalanche danger.
  Warning criteria may be met in other areas outside those
  forecasted by the avalanche center.

* AVALANCHE DANGER...The avalanche danger for the warning area
  will rise to HIGH today.

* REASON/IMPACTS...Several days of continuous snow, combined with
  increasing wind will create areas of unstable snow. Large
  avalanches will be capable of running onto flat terrain and will
  be easily capable of burying a person.

Very dangerous avalanche conditions. Avalanches may run long
distances into flat terrain. Stay off of... and out from
underneath... steep slopes.

Travel in avalanche terrain is not recommended.

Similar avalanche danger may exist at locations outside the
coverage area of this or any avalanche center.
