  Sandy Hook NJ to Fire Island Inlet NY out 20 nm...

* Until 745 PM EDT.

* At 642 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located near The Verrazano
  Narrows Bridge, moving east at 15 knots.

  HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
           suddenly higher waves.

* Locations impacted include...
  Sandy Hook, Raritan Bay, Upper New York Harbor, Rockaway Inlet,
  Sandy Hook Bay, The Verrazano Narrows Bridge, Lower New York
  Harbor, and Jamaica Bay.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until this storm passes.
Wind gusts 34 knots or greater, high waves, lightning, and heavy rain
are expected with this storm. If caught on the open water stay below
deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded metal objects.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 945 PM EDT THIS
EVENING FOR NORTHEASTERN MIDDLESEX, SOUTHEASTERN MORRIS AND EASTERN
SOMERSET COUNTIES...

At 630 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms
producing heavy rain in Woodbridge Township. Between 3 and 4 inches
of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches
are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Law enforcement reported flooding on area roads.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
         urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses.

Some locations that may experience flash flooding include...
  New Brunswick, Morristown, Somerville, Somerset, Edison, East
  Brunswick, North Brunswick, Carteret, Madison, Middlesex, Florham
  Park and Bound Brook.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around...don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most
flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.

* At 626 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of
  rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are
  possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
  to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
           highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other
           drainage and low lying areas.

* Some locations that may experience flash flooding include...
  Somerville, East Brunswick, South Brunswick, Manville, Flemington,
  Hopewell, Rocky Hill, Stockton, Millstone, Cloverhill, Skillman
  and Flagtown.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around...don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most
flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.

...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS APPROACHING NEW YORK HARBOR AND RARITAN
BAY...

At 617 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were
located along a line extending from 7 nm west of The Verrazano
Narrows Bridge to near South Amboy to 12 nm west of Cliffwood Beach,
moving NE at 20 kt.

Locations impacted include...
Sandy Hook Bay, The Verrazano Narrows Bridge, Raritan Bay, Upper New
York Harbor, and Lower New York Harbor.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, frequent lightning strikes, and heavy downpours, and could
pose a serious hazard for boaters. A special marine warning may
eventually be required. Boaters should consider heading for shore
before these strong thunderstorms arrive. If caught on the open
water stay below deck if possible, and keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.

  Northampton, Philadelphia, Upper Bucks, Western Chester and
  Western Montgomery.

* WHEN...Until 2 AM EDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of creeks,
  streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding
  may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
