...EXTREME COLD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY AFTERNOON
THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Dangerously cold wind chills between 5 to 10 below in the
  lower elevations and between 10 to 30 below zero in the mountains
  possible.

* WHERE...Portions of central, east central, north central,
  northeast, and west central New Mexico.

* WHEN...From Monday afternoon through Tuesday morning.

* IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills between 5 to 10 below
  in the lower elevations and between 10 to 30 below zero in the
  mountains will threaten frostbite on exposed skin in as little as
  30 minutes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must
go outside.

To prevent water pipes from freezing, wrap, drain or allow them to
drip slowly.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.
