...RED FLAG WARNING THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING FOR ALL AREAS
EXCEPT THE MIDDLE RIO GRANDE VALLEY AND WEST CENTRAL HIGHLANDS DUE
TO STRONG WINDS, LOW HUMIDITY, NEAR-RECORD HEAT, AND AN UNSTABLE
AIRMASS...

...RED FLAG WARNING FRIDAY FROM LATE MORNING UNTIL MID EVENING
FOR ALL AREAS DUE TO STRONG WINDS, LOW HUMIDITY, NEAR-RECORD
HEAT, AND AN UNSTABLE AIRMASS...

.Strong west to southwest winds with single digit humidity, near
record hot temperatures, and an unstable airmass will generate
widespread critical fire weather conditions mainly over northern
and eastern areas today. Elevated to locally critical conditions
will continue through tonight in a few areas where gusty winds
coincide with poor humidity recoveries. Critical to locally
extreme fire weather will develop Friday when winds will be the
strongest. Winds are expected to taper off slowly after sunset
Friday.

...RED FLAG WARNING NOW IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM TO 9 PM MDT FRIDAY...

* AREA AND TIMING...Northwest Plateau and Highlands, North Central
  Mountains, Northeast Highlands and Plains, Sandia/Manzano and
  Gallinas Mountains, and the East Central Plains Thursday and
  Friday mainly during the afternoon and evening.

* 20 FOOT WINDS...West-southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph
  today then west-southwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 45 mph
  Friday.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...4 to 8 percent today then 6 to 12 percent
  Friday.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
  Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in the
