...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 830 PM MDT THIS
EVENING FOR EAST CENTRAL UNION COUNTY...

At 625 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms moving
southeast produced heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and
3.5 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or
expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
         drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Clayton and Clayton Lake State Park.

This includes the following highways...
Highway 64 between Mile Markers 417 and 429.

This includes the following recreation areas...
Clayton Lake State Park.

This includes the following streams and drainages...
Gyp Arroyo, Seneca Creek, East Rita Blanca Creek, Alamosita Creek,
West Rita Blanca Creek, Alamos Creek and Corrumpa Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

In addition to torrential rains, strong winds and hail can also be
expected.
