...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 AM MDT MONDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of south central New Mexico, including the
  following counties, Dona Ana and Otero.

* WHEN...Until 200 AM MDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas,
  along US 70, east of San Augustine Pass and west of White Sands
  National Park.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1158 PM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
    indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is
    ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area.
    Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall of up to 0.5 to 1 inch is expected over
    the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
  - Some locations that may experience flooding include...
    White Sands National Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT WEST CENTRAL OTERO AND EAST
CENTRAL DONA ANA COUNTIES THROUGH 1245 AM MDT...

At 1142 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms 8 miles northeast of White Sands Missile Range Main
Post, moving southwest at 15 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
White Sands National Park, White Sands Missile Range Main Post,
Portions of Jornada Experimental Range, Lake Lucero, and Portions of
Organ Mountains Desert Peaks National Monument.

This includes Highway 70 in New Mexico between mile markers 166 and
193.
