...WINDY CONDITIONS WITH AREAS OF BLOWING DUST EXPECTED ON
SUNDAY...

.An upper level closed low will dive south along the west coast
on Sunday, with an embedded shortwave passing over New Mexico
ahead of it. Winds are expected to increase in response to lee
surface troughing and a tightening pressure gradient. Sustained
speeds of 25 to 35 mph are expected across southwest New Mexico
and far west Texas. Blowing dust may occur along the International
Border, causing reduced visibility. Winds are expected to
diminish overnight Sunday night.

...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 7 PM MDT SUNDAY...

The National Weather Service in El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa has
issued a Wind Advisory, which is in effect from noon to 7 PM MDT
Sunday.

* TIMING...Winds will increase around noon, with peak winds
  between 3 and 6 PM.

* WINDS...Sustained speeds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 45 mph.

* IMPACTS...Windy conditions will make driving difficult,
  especially for high profile vehicles. Loose objects may be blown
  around. Areas of blowing dust could reduce visibilities to 3 to
  5 miles.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 30 mph are expected. Winds
this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

...CRITICAL CONDITIONS LIKELY TO RETURN THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS...

.Another deep upper low will be moving down the west coast and
into the Four Corners region. This will increase southwest flow
over the region through Memorial Day. Winds will be on the
increase through the day Sunday and again on Monday with speeds
reaching 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph. Temperatures will warm
back to near normal with very dry air returning which will help
to create these critical fire weather conditions.

The National Weather Service in El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa has
issued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect from 1 PM to 9 PM
MDT Sunday. a Fire Weather Watch has also been issued. This Fire
Weather Watch is in effect from Monday afternoon through Monday
evening.

* WIND...Southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph.

* HUMIDITY...7 to 13 percent.

* HIGHEST THREAT...is located along and west of the Rio Grande.

* IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
  Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.

A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions
are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible
Red Flag Warnings.
