The National Weather Service in El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Eastern Dona Ana County in south central New Mexico...
  Southwestern Otero County in south central New Mexico...
  North Central El Paso County in western Texas...

* Until 330 AM MDT.

* At 136 AM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain
  has fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 1.5 inches in 1
  hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in
  the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
  shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Northeast El Paso, Chaparral, McGregor Range Base and Meyer Range
  Complex.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 AM MDT MONDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of south central New Mexico, including the
  following counties, Dona Ana and Otero.

* WHEN...Until 200 AM MDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas,
  along US 70, east of San Augustine Pass and west of White Sands
  National Park.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1158 PM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
    indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is
    ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area.
    Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall of up to 0.5 to 1 inch is expected over
    the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
  - Some locations that may experience flooding include...
    White Sands National Park.
