...WET AND WINDY WITH HIGH MOUNTAIN SNOW THROUGH MONDAY...

A strong atmospheric river event will impact central and northern
Nevada through Monday. Light to moderate rain and high mountain
snow will fall across mainly northern Nevada today. A swath of
moderate to potentially heavy rain and high mountain snow will
then work south and east across the region tonight into Monday.
Precip will taper off west to east Monday night. Total liquid
precip amounts of 1 to 2 inches expected for Humboldt county,
northwest Elko county and the Ruby Mountains, with a half to
around one inch expected elsewhere. Some accumulating snow is
possible in the higher mountains, but mainly above most passes and
summits. Southerly winds increase today and will become strong by
this evening across much of central Nevada into southeast Elko
county, highest over White Pine county. Expect the strong winds to
continue into Monday before diminishing Monday evening. Some
blowing dust is possible as well.
