...ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS FOR THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND...

Warm and very dry conditions expected over the holiday weekend.
An upper-level system and dry cold front will bring gusty winds
this afternoon and evening and again tomorrow. The winds, in
combination with the warm and dry weather, will result in elevated
fire weather conditions across much of the region.

Please practice fire weather safety if out recreating this holiday
weekend.

EVENING FOR GUSTY WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR FIRE
WEATHER ZONES 426 AND 470...

* Affected Area...Fire Weather Zone 426 Northern Nye County-
  Mojave and Fire Weather Zone 470 Eastern Elko County.

* Winds...Southwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* Relative Humidity...As low as 8 percent.

* Impacts...The combination of gusty winds and low humidity will
  create critical fire weather conditions.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
