NORTHEASTERN ERIE...NORTHERN LIVINGSTON...NIAGARA...ORLEANS... GENESEE...MONROE AND ONTARIO COUNTIES... At 1130 AM EST, an area of heavy snow was located along a line extending from near Buffalo and Niagara Falls to near Canandaigua was moving northeast at 35 to 40 mph. This area of heavy snow will reduce the visibility to under a quarter mile and produce snow at a rate of at least an inch an hour. While the heavy snow will only last 60 to 90 minutes at any given location...this will be enough to cover most roadways. Locations impacted include... Buffalo, Rochester, Greece, Cheektowaga, Irondequoit, North Tonawanda, Clarence, Chili, Lockport, Batavia, Kenmore, Depew, Amherst, Tonawanda, Geneva, Canandaigua, Lancaster, Brockport, Geneseo and East Rochester. This includes the following highways... Interstate 390 between exits 7 and 12. Interstate 90 between exits 52 and 42. Visibilities will drop quickly to less than a quarter of a mile in this area of heavy snow.
