The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a

* Flood Advisory for...
  Oneida County in central New York...

* Until 130 PM EDT.

* At 1033 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
  thunderstorms. During the past several hours some location have
  received around 2 inches of rainfall. Additional heavy rainfall is
  expected through this morning. This will cause minor flooding in
  the advisory area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Rome, Lee, Vienna, Trenton, Floyd, Camden, Boonville, Forestport,
  Steuben and Florence.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for a portion of central New York, including
  the following areas, Cortland, Madison, Northern Oneida,
  Onondaga, Schuyler, Seneca, Southern Cayuga, Southern Oneida,
  Steuben, Tompkins, and Yates.

* Until 8 PM EDT this evening

* Numerous showers and thunderstorms will move through central New
  York late this morning into the afternoon and early evening
  hours. Some storms will contain torrential downpours, capable
  of producing localized flash flooding. Areas with recent
  rainfall will be particularly vulnerable.

* Flooding could quickly develop along creeks, small streams,
  urban and in other low lying areas. Ponding of water on roadways
  is likely to occur.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for central New York.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Showers and thunderstorms that develop today may contain locally
heavy rainfall, especially this afternoon through early evening.
Isolated flash flooding will be possible.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

There is a potential for excessive heat on both Friday and Saturday.
The heat index each afternoon in the valleys may reach between 100
and 105 degrees.

Weather spotters are encouraged to report significant weather
conditions according to Standard Operating Procedures.
