...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 9 AM THIS MORNING
TO 9 AM EST SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations
  between 2 and 5 inches and ice accumulations up to three tenths of
  an inch.

* WHERE...Broome, Chemung, Cortland, Onondaga, Schuyler, Seneca,
  Southern Cayuga, Steuben, Tioga, Tompkins, and Yates Counties.

* WHEN...From 9 AM this morning to 9 AM EST Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Power outages and tree damage are possible due to the
  ice. Travel could be very difficult at times.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow overspreads the area by late morning,
  with steady snow continuing through the afternoon and early
  evening hours. The snow then changes to a wintry mix of sleet,
  freezing rain and some rain overnight. Temperatures should warm
  above freezing Sunday morning, ending the freezing rain threat in
  most locations. The highest ice accumulations are forecast to be
  over the higher elevations.

Another round of significant lake effect snow is possible Sunday
night through Wednesday. This lake effect snow will be accompanied
by strong, gusty westerly winds. This combination could produce near
blizzard conditions at times in open and exposed areas Sunday night
through Tuesday. Wind chills will drop to between 0 and 15 below
zero Monday night into early Tuesday morning.

Spotter activation will likely be needed. Please relay any
information about severe weather to the NWS.

* WHAT...West winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts 50 to 60 mph possible.

* WHERE...Portions of central New York and northeast Pennsylvania.

* WHEN...From Sunday afternoon through Monday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines.
  Widespread power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult,
  especially for high profile vehicles.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Widespread icing adding additional weight on
  trees and power lines before the high winds arrive could
  exacerbate tree damage and downed powerlines.
