...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
WEDNESDAY MORNING...

The National Weather Service in Burlington has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of northern New York and Vermont,
  including the following areas, in northern New York, Eastern Essex
  and Western Essex. In Vermont, Caledonia, Eastern Addison, Eastern
  Chittenden, Eastern Franklin, Eastern Rutland, Essex, Lamoille,
  Orange, Orleans, Washington, Western Addison, Western Chittenden,
  Western Franklin, Western Rutland and Windsor.

* From Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning

* Heavy rainfall of 1 to 3 inches is expected from Tuesday afternoon
  into early Wednesday morning. The expected heavy rainfall rates
  have the potential to cause localized flash flooding, especially
  across complex terrain and poor drainage urban areas.

* Localized sharp rises on streams and rivers are expected overnight
  Tuesday into Wednesday across the watch area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to
Flash Flooding. Flash Flooding is a very dangerous situation. You
should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should
Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
