Winds gusting as high as 60 mph tonight into Monday will likely create hazardous whiteout conditions. * WHERE...Northern Oneida and Southern Oneida Counties. * WHEN...For the Winter Storm Warning, until 7 PM EST this evening. For the Lake Effect Snow Warning, from 7 PM this evening to 6 AM EST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Scattered power outages and tree damage are possible due to the ice. Travel could be nearly impossible. Areas of blowing and drifting snow could significantly reduce visibility, causing blizzard conditions and whiteouts in open exposed locations. The hazardous conditions will impact the Monday morning and evening commutes. Strong winds could cause extensive damage to trees and power lines. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heavy lake effect snow will combine with strong northwest winds late tonight into Monday to bring near blizzard conditions at times in the heaviest lake effect snow bands.
