This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northwestern Connecticut,
western Massachusetts, east central and eastern New York and
southern Vermont.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Some spotty freezing drizzle cannot be ruled out overnight, mainly
across the higher elevations. A thin coating of ice could make any
untreated surfaces slippery.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

A low pressure system and its warm front will bring widespread
precipitation on Thursday. Precipitation may start out as a wintry
mix, including freezing rain, especially across the higher terrain,
before changing over to plain rain later in the day into the early
evening. Winter weather headlines may be needed.

Spotter activation is not expected at this time.

Black ice formation is possible overnight for areas where
temperatures are near or below freezing due to precipitation that
fell this evening. Black ice is especially likely on untreated
roads and walking surfaces. Use caution if out and about overnight
into the early morning hours. The threat for black ice will
diminish after sunrise as temperatures warm above freezing.
