The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
  Greene County in east central New York...
  Ulster County in east central New York...

* Until 615 PM EDT.

* At 1216 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Flooding of
  small streams, low lying areas and poor drainage locations is
  expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 2 and 3
  inches of rain have fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Ellenville, Hunter, Woodstock, Windham, Prattsville, Woodland
  Valley Campground, Phoenicia, Mount Tremper, West Shokan,
  Lanesville, Kenneth L Wilson Campground, Olivebridge, West Hurley,
  Kerhonkson, Napanoch, North-South Lake Campground, Preston-Potter
  Hollow, Wawarsing, Crawford and Cairo.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the
warned area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

  the Schoharie Creek At Prattsville.
* Until tomorrow morning.
* At 11:15 AM EDT Tuesday the stage was 9.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this
  afternoon to a crest of 13.5 feet this evening. It will then fall
  below flood stage just after midnight tonight.
* Impact...At 13.0 feet, Minor flooding of basements.
* Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 13.4
  feet on 03/05/1977.

  Western Ulster County in east central New York...

* Until 130 PM EDT.

* At 1019 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding
  is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area.
  Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen with the highest
  amounts in the eastern Catskills.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Albany, Cohoes, Colonie, Ellenville, Hunter, Delmar, Latham,
  Guilderland, Woodstock, Westerlo, Berne, Voorheesville, Altamont,
  Windham, Prattsville, Lanesville, Preston-Potter Hollow,
  North-South Lake Campground, Preston Hollow and Phoenicia.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the
area with the highest amounts in the eastern Catskills. This
additional rain will result in minor flooding.

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING...

The Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of east central New York and eastern New York,
  including the following areas, in east central New York,
  Schoharie, Western Greene, Western Schenectady, and Western
  Ulster. In eastern New York, Montgomery.

* Through Wednesday morning

* A complex area of low pressure will bring periods of rain, heavy
  at times, through tonight. A quarter inch to an inch has already
  fallen in some areas with very localized amounts over 1 inch.
  Additional rain, heavy at times, is expected mainly through
  this afternoon, then becoming lighter through this evening. The
  rain will taper off Wednesday morning. Storm total rainfall of 2
  to 5 inches is expected with the highest amounts expected along
  east facing slopes of the Catskills.

* Heavy rainfall may cause flooding of roads, ponding of water
  on roadways and standing water in low lying areas. River
  flooding is also possible, mainly along tributaries of the
  Catskill and Schoharie basins.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
