THURSDAY AFTERNOON...

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for western Massachusetts, east
central New York, eastern New York and southern Vermont.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Hazardous weather is not expected at this time.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

Internet for more information about the following hazards.

   High Wind Watch.

There is a Marginal Risk (level 1 of 5) of severe thunderstorms
across eastern New York from around the Capital District and
Catskills northward late Wednesday afternoon into early Wednesday
evening. A narrow line of downpours may produce damaging wind gusts
along a cold front.

Breezy and showery conditions will persist through Wednesday, with
much colder and continued windy conditions on Thursday. As
temperatures quickly fall below freezing Wednesday night into
Thursday morning, any remaining areas of standing water may freeze
rapidly on untreated ground surfaces. In addition, rain may end as
snow in some areas, resulting in light snow accumulations.

Lake effect snow may result in localized moderate snow accumulations
across portions of southern Herkimer County late Wednesday night
into Thursday morning.

National Weather Service in Albany New York.

...HIGH WIND WATCH NOW IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
THURSDAY AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...West winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph
  possible.

* WHERE...The Mohawk Valley, Schoharie Valley, northern Catskills,
  Helderbergs, Capital Region, northern and central Taconics and
  the Berkshires.

* WHEN...From Wednesday afternoon through Thursday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds could blow down trees and power
  lines. Widespread power outages are possible. Travel could be
  difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The strongest winds will be in the wake of
  the cold frontal passage Wednesday night when gusts up to 60 mph
  are possible.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates on this
situation. Fasten loose objects or shelter objects in a safe
location prior to the onset of winds.
