There is a Marginal Risk for severe thunderstorms for this afternoon
into tonight, except a Slight Risk across the western Mohawk Valley.
Thunderstorms may produce isolated to scattered instances of downed
trees, tree limbs and power outages due to damaging wind gusts.

TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Heat index values from the mid 90s to around 100 expected.

* WHERE...The Hudson Valley including the Capital Region, the Mohawk
  Valley, Lake George Saratoga Region and northwest Connecticut.

* WHEN...From noon today to 8 PM EDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
  illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.
