...Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of Litchfield, southern
Berkshire, southeastern Ulster, Dutchess and southeastern Columbia
Counties through 915 PM EST...

At 818 PM EST, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Worthington to Walden. Movement was east at 55
mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and pea size hail. Small hail may
         cover the ground in some locations making for slippery
         driving conditions.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Waterbury, Pittsfield, Torrington, Poughkeepsie, New Milford, Beacon,
Great Barrington, New Paltz, Sherman, Pawling, Wallkill, Hyde Park,
Brookfield, Plattekill, Canton, Pleasant Valley, Thomaston,
Middlebury, New Hartford and Lee.

This includes Interstate 87 near exit 18.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the eastern Catskills, mid
Hudson Valley and Taconics of eastern New York, northwestern
Connecticut, western Massachusetts, and southern Vermont.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Scattered thunderstorms will move from west to east associated with a
strong cold front passage this evening. Occasional lightning, winds
gusts to around 40 mph and small hail will be possible with the
storms.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

The probability for widespread hazardous weather is low.
