...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING
FOR NORTHWESTERN DUTCHESS AND NORTHEASTERN ULSTER COUNTIES...

At 654 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain across the warned area. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain have
fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the
warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
         drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Kingston, Saugerties, Rhinebeck, Woodstock, Red Hook, Lake
  Katrine, Saugerties South, Port Ewen, West Hurley, Veteran, Milan,
  Tivoli, Centerville, Flatbush, Ulster Landing, Glenerie, Mount
  Marion, Glasco, Barrytown and Ruby.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of east central New York, including the
  following counties, Dutchess and Ulster.

* WHEN...Until 845 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 639 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain
    have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Poughkeepsie, Hyde Park, Milton, Pleasant Valley, Wappingers
    Falls, Highland, Red Oaks Mill, Fairview, Myers Corner,
    Hopewell Junction, Marlboro, East Fishkill, Titusville,

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
  possible.

* WHERE...In New York, Greene, Columbia, Ulster, and Dutchess
  Counties. In Massachusetts, Berkshire County. In Connecticut,
  Litchfield County.

* WHEN...Through late tonight.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
  creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
  Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms with heavy
    downpours are expected this afternoon and evening. Storms
    will be slow moving and may repeatedly track over the same
    areas, which will increase the threat for flash flooding.
    Urban, low lying and poor drainage areas will be most
    susceptible to flooding.
