...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 6 PM EDT MONDAY...

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for Montgomery and southern
Washington Counties, the Hudson River Valley including the Capital
District and the Glens Falls and Saratoga Springs area of eastern
New York.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

There is a low probability for widespread hazardous weather.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.

Internet for more information about the following hazards.

   Heat Advisory.

Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible late Monday into Monday
night. Some of these storms could product damaging winds, large hail
an isolated tornado and locally heavy rainfall.

The Storm Prediction Center has most of eastern New York in a slight
risk for severe thunderstorms.

...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 6 PM EDT MONDAY...

* WHAT...Heat index values in the mid and upper 90s.

* WHERE...The Capital District, Lake George Saratoga Region,
  Montgomery and southern Washington Counties and the Mid Hudson
  Valley.

* WHEN...From noon to 6 PM EDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
  illnesses to occur.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out
of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young
children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles
under any circumstances.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when
possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational
Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent
rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone
overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.
