...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
  possible.

* WHERE...Portions of northeast Kentucky, including the following
  counties, Boyd, Carter, Greenup and Lawrence, southeast Ohio,
  including the following counties, Athens, Gallia, Jackson OH,
  Lawrence OH, Meigs, Morgan, Perry, Vinton and Washington, southwest
  Virginia, including the following counties, Buchanan and Dickenson,
  and West Virginia, including the following counties, Barbour,
  Boone, Braxton, Cabell, Calhoun, Clay, Doddridge, Gilmer, Harrison,
  Jackson WV, Kanawha, Lewis, Lincoln, Logan, Mason, McDowell, Mingo,
  Northwest Fayette, Northwest Nicholas, Northwest Pocahontas,
  Northwest Raleigh, Northwest Randolph, Northwest Webster,
  Pleasants, Putnam, Ritchie, Roane, Southeast Fayette, Southeast
  Nicholas, Southeast Pocahontas, Southeast Raleigh, Southeast

* WHEN...Through Friday morning.

* IMPACTS...Soils remain saturated from recent rainfall with
  additional heavy rain likely to cause significant runoff. Area
  creeks and streams are already running high and could easily flood
  with more heavy rain.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - Rounds of thunderstorms will track through the area through early
    Friday, bringing the potential for heavy downpours, which may
    cause flooding.

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Ohio...

  Hocking River at Athens affecting Athens County.

For the Hocking River...Minor flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling toll free,
800 401 9535, when you can do so safely.

...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Hocking River at Athens.

* WHEN...Until this morning.

* IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Low areas, campground, and private camps
  along the river between Athens and Coolville begin to flood. Much
  of the city of Athens is protected up to 26 feet by levees. In
  Nelsonville, the baseball field adjacent to Lake Hope Drive floods.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1:15 AM EDT Thursday the stage was 20.1 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 16.0 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
    at 1:15 AM EDT Thursday was 20.1 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage early
    this morning and continue falling to 10.4 feet Monday morning.
  - Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 20.1
    feet on 02/19/2022.
