This Outlook is for Northwest and West Central Arkansas as well as
much of Eastern Oklahoma.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM.
RISK...Limited.
AREA...Eastern Oklahoma into West Central Arkansas.
ONSET...Early Afternoon.

HEAVY RAIN.
RISK...Limited.
AREA...Mainly Southeast Oklahoma.
ONSET...Mid Morning.

DISCUSSION...
Thunderstorm chances continue across eastern Oklahoma and
northwest Arkansas today as a storm complex moves eastward into
the region this morning and a weak disturbance lifts into the
region this afternoon. The greater storm potential is across
southeast Oklahoma into west central Arkansas, where a limited
potential exists for a few strong to severe storms. Locally
damaging wind and hail are the main threats through this
afternoon. Instability and severe potentials should weaken this
evening with the loss of daytime heating. Slow storm motions,
generally less than 20 mph will allow for a locally heavy rainfall
potential as well today.

Daytime storms should weaken this evening, though additional storm
chances remain overnight with a frontal boundary sagging southeast
toward the region.

SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT...
Local Spotter Activation May Be Needed.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.
FRIDAY THROUGH MONDAY...Thunderstorm Potential.
MONDAY...Thunderstorm Potential. High Wind Potential.
TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY...Thunderstorm Potential...Heavy Rain Potential.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
A surface frontal boundary is forecast to sag southeast into
eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas Friday and remain over the
region into Saturday. At the same time, another weak disturbance
is forecast to move over the region. This will allow for
thunderstorm chances to continue Friday and Saturday for eastern
Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. A few storms could again become
strong to severe each afternoon ahead/south of the boundary. These
daily storm chances look to taper off by Sunday evening with upper
level high pressure building into the southern Plains.

A more defined low pressure system moves out into the Plains early
next week with a cold front moving into the region Tuesday. This
will increase storm chances again for eastern Oklahoma and
northwest Arkansas. Limited severe potentials also develop again
early next week.
