AREA...Eastern Oklahoma and West-Central Arkansas.

DISCUSSION...
Isolated showers and thunderstorms remain possible into this
evening across eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. Overall
coverage is likely to remain low, however gusty winds and heavy
downpours are possible with any thunderstorm that does develop.
Additional thunderstorms are possible across northeast Oklahoma
after midnight as a weak cold front approaches the area. A few
strong storms are possible late tonight into early Thursday. Heat
index values of 100 to 105 degrees will persist early this
evening across eastern Oklahoma and west central Arkansas.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
Scattered thunderstorms are forecast for Thursday primarily north
of Interstate 40. These storms will be near a weak cold front
which is expected to lose definition by Friday. Hot and humid
conditions will develop south of the front on Thursday and expand
area wide by Friday. A prolonged period of hot and humid days
appears likely from this weekend into next week. Afternoon heat
index values of 100 to 105 degrees will be common and higher heat
stress conditions will impact outdoor activities.
