DISCUSSION...

West to northwest winds will gust between 25 and 30 mph from
around mid-morning thru the midday hours across northeast
Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas, before subsiding thru the
afternoon.

WEDNESDAY and THURSDAY...Thunderstorm Potential.
FRIDAY thru SUNDAY...Thunderstorm Potential...Heavy Rain Potential.
MONDAY...Thunderstorm Potential.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
There is a slight chance for thunderstorms Wednesday night near
the Kansas border, and on Thursday down near the Red River. Severe
weather is not expected.

An unsettled weather pattern is expected to set up by Friday and
persist into the holiday weekend. Multiple rounds of storms are
expected to impact portions of far northeast Oklahoma into
northwest Arkansas during this time frame. Strong flow aloft will
support some severe weather potential, and heavy rainfall which
could lead to flooding is also possible if storms end up training
over the same areas.

MORNING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Illinois River at Chewey.

* WHEN...From this afternoon to late tomorrow morning.

* IMPACTS...At 13.0 feet, minor flooding occurs from near Fidler`s
  Bend to near Hanging Rock. Water begins to affect access to Winset
  Hollow. Road access near the river to residential homes southeast
  of Chewey Bridge may be compromised. Water impacts 630 Road east
  of the Cherokee/Adair County line. Extreme turbulence makes the
  river unsafe for floating.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:15 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 9.3 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    late this afternoon to a crest of 13.0 feet around midnight
    tonight. It will then fall below flood stage early tomorrow
    morning.
  - Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
