PDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Afternoon high temperatures in the middle to upper 90s.

* WHERE...Clark County, Columbia River Gorge, Upper Hood River
  Valley, and the Willamette Valley.

* WHEN...From 11 AM to 11 PM PDT today.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sunshine, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

SUNDAY EVENING FOR THUNDERSTORMS FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES 633 AND
684...

The National Weather Service in Portland has issued a Fire
Weather Watch for thunderstorms, which is in effect from late
Saturday night through early Sunday evening.

* AFFECTED AREA...In Oregon, Fire Weather Zone 684 Northern and
  Central Willamette Valley. In Washington, Fire Weather Zone
  633 Clark County Lowlands and Swift Reservoir Region.

* THUNDERSTORMS...Isolated to scattered thunderstorms.

* IMPACTS...Frequent lightning and critically dry fuels may
  result in numerous fire starts. Thunderstorm outflow winds may
  result in erratic fire spread.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions
are possible in the watch area. Listen for later forecasts and
possible Red Flag Warnings.
