...THE FIRST OF TWO SYSTEMS TO HIT SOUTHERN OREGON...

.An upper level wave and cold front will bring the first of two
rounds of winter weather to the region. Major impacts are not
anticipated, although there may be some travel difficulties over
higher terrain as this system moves through Wednesday evening.
Another system is anticipated to move through Friday and impact
locations farther north.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 5 PM WEDNESDAY TO 5 PM PDT
THURSDAY...

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 5 and 16
  inches with the highest totals in the Central Cascades and lower
  totals in the Siskiyou Mountains. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph
  over high and exposed terrain.

* WHERE...Elevations above 5000 feet in the southern Oregon Cascades
  and Siskiyou Mountains. This includes Crater and Diamond Lake,
  Lake of the Woods, Mt Ashland Ski Area as well as Highways 140,
  62, 138 and 230.

* WHEN...From 5 PM Wednesday to 5 PM PDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be difficult during the winter event.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...This is the first of two systems. The second
  system on Friday will also produce impactful weather for the
  higher terrain.
