...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 815 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast South Carolina, including the
  following county, Charleston.

* WHEN...Until 815 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 556 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area.
  - Though rainfall has ended in the downtown area, City of
    Charleston Emergency Management reports that numerous roads
    remain closed due to flooding. An additional round of
    thunderstorms is expected this evening which will likely
    bring more heavy rainfall to the area.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    North Charleston, Downtown Charleston, Daniel Island, West
    Ashley, Charleston Naval Complex, The Citadel, Columbus
    Street Terminal, Medical University Of South Carolina, Marion
    Square and Cooper River Marina.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for southeast South Carolina.

.DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight.

Heavy Rainfall: A round of thunderstorms and locally heavy rainfall
is expected late this afternoon into this evening. The rainfall
could become excessive and produce minor flooding of low-lying and
poor drainage areas.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

No hazardous weather is expected at this time.
