This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for southeast South Carolina. .DAY ONE...Today and tonight. Please listen to NOAA Weather Radio or go to weather.gov on the Internet for more information about the following hazards. High Risk for Rip Currents. Coastal Flooding: Minor coastal flooding could occur around the evening high tide. A Coastal Flood Advisory may be needed. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday. Rip Currents: There is a high risk for rip currents at area beaches for Sunday. An elevated risk will continue into early next week. High Surf: High surf with breaking waves of 5 to 7 feet will likely occur along the beaches of Charleston and Colleton Counties Sunday into Monday. A High Surf Advisory will be needed. Significant beach erosion is also likely. Coastal Flooding: Moderate coastal flooding will be possible with the Sunday evening high tide. The threat of coastal flooding will then continue through next week due to increasing astronomical influences. Coastal Flood Advisories will likely be needed. There is a small chance that water levels could reach the major flood threshold in the Charleston Harbor. If the risk for major flooding increases, a Coastal Flood Watch or Warning could be needed. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter assistance is not anticipated at this time. $$

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don`t swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline.
